Andaman and Nicobar Islands located at the blues of the Bay of Bengal. 1,367 km from Chennai and 1,304 km from Kolkata, what were once graveyards of martyrs have now transformed into one of India’s best tourist spots. Andaman and Nicobar Islands is union territory consisting of Mainly two groups of islands . Andaman & Nicobar.

The Andaman’s comprise more than 300 islands. North, Middle, and South Andaman, known collectively as Great Andaman are the main islands; others include Landfall Island, Interview Island, the Sentinel Islands, Ritchie’s Archipelago, and Rutland Island. Little Andaman in the south is separated from the Nicobar Islands by the Ten Degree Channel, which is about 90 miles (145 km) wide. The Nicobar’s consist of 19 islands. Among the most prominent are Car Nicobar in the north; Camorta, Katchall, and Nancowry in the center of the chain; and Great Nicobar in the south. About 90 miles to the southwest of Great Nicobar lies the northwestern tip of Sumatra, Indonesia. 

Climate

The climate of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands is tropical but is moderated by sea breezes. Temperatures typically rise from the low 71.7°F (about 22 °C) into the mid 93.2°F (about 34 °C) daily throughout the year. The territory receives roughly 120 inches (3,000 mm) of rain annually, brought mainly by the southwest monsoon, which blows from May through September, and by the tropical cyclones that follow in October and November.

Languages 

Most speak Hindi and English but Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam also are common. Usually u don’t feel like your are in other state its feel like home . That’s why every one call Andaman as Mini India.

Passport or VISA Entry Formalities for Andaman :

Indian nationals: No passport/visa/permission is required to visit the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. However, visiting tribal areas in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands is prohibited expect Jirkatang . It is on the way to Baratang where you can see Jarawas tribes from inside your car. They can stay in permitted areas for as long as they want.

For Foreigners: A passport is required with an Indian Visa to enter.
